The Designer - Nikita Varma
Born with an inherent talent for art, design and all things creative and fashionable, the designer, Nikita Varma, grew up as an artist but with a degree in Business. A stint in the corporate world led her to realize her true passion and move to New York City to pursue Fashion at the prestigious Parsons School of Design. Besides her formal training at Parsons, She has apprenticed and worked with designers and brands like Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenberg, Luca Luca, Vera Wang, Bulgari and Donna Ricco. Her education and experience has polished her skills and seasoned her to intuitively read the pulse of the international fashion market and its ever changing fashion trends and demands.
Her achievements include showing at the highly competitive Parsons Line debut show and the coveted Parsons Gallery show. She has also been recognized by CIAE (Confederation of Indian Apparel Exporters) in a contest, as a promising ‘Young International Fashion Designer’. In addition, she was also selected by the GLOBUS store in India, in a nationwide contest to design and show a collection for the store.
Nikita branched out as an Independent designer, and launched her eponymous label ‘NIKITTA’, a high-end ready-to-wear contemporary designer label and ‘NIKITTA Prêt’ a diffusion line, in the year 2011.
