Like always, the show was all about opulence, extravagance, and flamboyance! Attended by the biggest who's who of the tinsel town and glamour world, the show began and ended on a grand note.

1.Manish Malhotra

021020018016

He is a veteran now and is a pro at bringing larger-than-life collections. He opened this year's show with his glamorous collection. Aren't we all pretty immune to his extravagant collections now? His collection always has that charisma that makes us look forward to his work. His vision is exemplary for any new designer who wants to make it big in the fashion industry. For winter/festive collection of 2016, he worked around shimmer. It's the perfect wedding collection which included sarees with jackets, lehengas paired with sheer crop tops, backless gowns, pants with long tunics, tunics with draped dupattas. For the contemporary gentlemen, he textured and structured bandhgalas, jackets and velvets vests paired with Jodhpuri pants. He played around with the pocket square for them. The beautiful Shraddha Kapoor and the everybody's current favourite Sushant Singh Rajput were his show stoppers. Shraddha Kapoor looked ethereal in a resplendent deep green velvet lehenga paired with an embroidered crop blouse. While Sushant Singh Rajput looked the quintessential chocolate boy in black bandhgala and white jodhpur pants.

2.Kunal Rawal

003 (1)006004 (1) Bollywood men's favourite Kunal Rawal showcased his immense talent on this year's show. He creates the finest work and probably is the one of the designers who want men to look good! ;) Hues of his collection ranged from shades of wine to neutral colors like olive. And of course, we witnessed the staples like Bundis and jackets with oh-so-cool prints! The collection gave the existing traditional ensemble the contemporary touch which made his work stand out. He is surely every man's best friend for a traditional pick to look subtle yet fashionable. Ranbir Kapoor was his choice for a show-stopper who BTW looked a dapper champagne beaded bundi over a chocolate textured kurta and silk fitted pants. Their camaraderie was evitable on the ramp which made it quite a show!

3.Label by Ritu Kumar

002001 This year's Ritu Kumar's collection revolved around sports-inspired fashion wear. Not so usual, right? Well, expect the unexpected from this eccentric designer! The collection gave vibes of fashion and not athletic. Probably this is why your clothes transit from the ramp to streets like butter. The athleisure trend had a more feminine approach and we totally loved it. Every designer's pick, blending looks like the new black! And the way Ritu blended Indian textiles with western sensibilities, it surely did look stunning. Her collection included maxi dresses, skirts, blouses and off-shoulder tunics. She made sure to infuse basics with shirt dresses and the season's favourite off-shoulder tops. Kriti Sanon played showstopper in an elaborate black gown with traditional motifs and looked every inch gorgeous and dew drops like fresh.

4.Tarun Tahiliani

011 (1)014 (1)013012 (3)024 Tarun Tahiliani welcomed autumn with hues of Red, Cobalt Blue, Charcoal and Olive Green. He kept it simple with same color separates showing off his mastery of drapes in forms of shawls and draped skirts. He too chose to blend Indian and western textures keeping the Indian silhouettes primary and touches of western feel like capes, cowls and gilets. The new trend to be spotted was the international-inspired glittery lips. This season, we are heads up for anything that sparkly that comes our way! His idea twirled around breaking the restriction and making separates versatile. His muse was our favourite and most fashionable Kangana Ranaut who was spotted clicking selfies! Needless to say, she looked jaw-droppingly stunning in a black satin skirt with a statement red gilet.

5.Sabyasachi

007008009010 Lakme Fashion Week definitely saved the best for the last. Sabyasachi’s grand finale show was titled ‘Illuminate’ and it surely did gleam the stage with his stunning collection. His festive collection featured heavily embroidered Anarkali suits, Cocktail dresses and lehengas with his patent choice of regal colors like reds, goldens, blues, greens, and statement blacks. With heavy and rich velvet, he wonderfully set the combination with light sheer nets in the lehengas and sarees. The filthily rich look of his collection was adorned with the work of Zardozi, Parsi, Baroque crystals and Kashmiri Tilla work. None other than the Begum and mommy-to-be Kareena Kapoor Khan stole the show with her radiant presence. She looked mesmerising in that natural glow of pregnancy and kept giving us aww-dorable moments throughout. She wore heavily embroidered kurti and ghagra and like every Sabyasachi piece, it exuded exquisiteness and grace. Kareena ended the show by announcing it as her emotional moment as it was the first time she walked the ramp for  him that too with her baby bump! His bridal wear collection is worth being on every bride's wish list!
